ONLINE ADULT AUDITIONING CLASS
BRUCE H. NEWBERG’S ONLINE ADULT AUDITIONING CLASS
The objective of this class is to de-mystify the audition process by empowering actors with inside information from a seasoned casting director.
Actors will learn how to best prepare for an audition by understanding the tone and pace of the material and most importantly, to develop and hone their persona and to make every character a version of themselves.
Each week the men are assigned the same audition scene as are the women. We concentrate on leading and supporting roles. The material comes from films, television and plays that I have cast as well as some classics. We will do Feature Film Comedy, Drama and Romantic Comedy. We will do half hour comedy series regulars and guest stars. We will do one hour drama series regulars and guest stars. And we will do some classic material (i.e. WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, FATAL ATTRACTION, HIS GIRL FRIDAY, ALL ABOUT EVE, YOU’VE GOT MAIL, ALL MY SONS, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF) - but I am interested in seeing YOUR VERSION of it.
Each actor will read one on one with me and the others will observe. After all the men have read, I will ask each actor how they felt and then tell them what I observed. Then I will give some of the actors another shot at the material. The same process is repeated with the ladies.
Some weeks the men and women will be assigned the same scene. After reading individually with me, there will be chemistry reads between men and women.
Every actor proceeds at their own pace and the class is nurturing and very supportive. Some weeks the role will be the perfect type for certain actors and some weeks it will be more of a stretch. I do this because often in the audition process we start out looking for something and change our mind to something different because of what an individual actor brings to it.
Sometimes, with more complicated material, we may do it again the following week. This will teach actors how to approach a call back.

THIS CLASS STARTS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 5TH
Date: Tuesday's
Time: 7 to 9 PM
